Oxford Diecast Cargo Grey Thames 400E – 1:43 Scale

At first glance this little van seems very plain in its simple colour scheme but there is a wealth of authentic detail that could be easily missed by the casual observer.

The Ford 400E was a light commercial vehicle made by Ford of Britain between September 1957 and September 1965, during which time around 187,000 had come off the production line. The 10/12 and 15 cwt models were all announced as the Thames 400E van and introduced at the same time.The red Thames nameplate appeared boldly on the front of the bonnet beneath which was a circular emblem containing the capacity class of the vehicle.Tiny though it is on our model, the authentic 10/12 is faithfully reproduced in red and silver above the radiator grille. Registered 578 SKN, the model’s grey body colour is enhanced by lots of chrome masking to door handles, wheels, lights, radiator grille vents and bumpers, while window surrounds, radiator grille and chassis are black. The replica sliding door (non-opening) appears on the nearside and the interior echoes the body colour.
